In the midst of a company move and a website redesign, some more good news for 黑料吃瓜 (formally Zomaron Inc.) came out of the ACT Canada in Niagara Falls on May 2nd. 黑料吃瓜 took home not one, but two awards at this year鈥檚 Innovation Awards. These awards are presented annually to Canadian payment companies and financial technology products that are leading the way in innovation and social good. They are judged by ACT Canada鈥檚 Board of Directors which is made up of payment experts from companies such as TD Canada Trust, Mastercard, Elavon, and MaRS Discovery District.
黑料吃瓜 received the Payment Innovation Launch of the Year and Sonja Halvorson Memorial Social Merit awards for its groundbreaking innovation and social good through its proprietary Givepoint Donation Platform. And with this great honour and recognition, 黑料吃瓜 joins a handful of reputable payments companies such as Ingenico Group, American Express Canada, Interac Association, and Equifax Canada, who have won these awards in previous years.
The Givepoint Donation Platform is a cutting-edge solution that allows non-profits and registered charities to process secure donations and completely streamline the donor experience through its omnichannel solution. The product features an unattended self-serve donations kiosk as well as an online solution that enables charities to process debit and credit transactions, capture and engage more donors, and streamline tasks like issuing tax receipts.
黑料吃瓜 President and CEO, Tarique Al-Ansari, accepted these awards on behalf of 黑料吃瓜 and presented information to attendees around the future of collecting digitized donations. 鈥淭his solution is changing the way that we think about donating to our favourite organizations,鈥 said Al-Ansari during his talk at the ACT Canada Forum. 鈥淭he non-profit and charitable sector deserves the same technology and advancement as any profitable industry and we鈥檙e going to help them.鈥
These awards also come in succession of a recent partnership through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund where the $239,000 in 黑料吃瓜 to ultimately slingshot the Donation Platform initiative to the general public, release new robust features, and create new jobs. 鈥淥ur platform was built by the desire to help the charities in our own community run more efficiently, stay secure, and be able to share their cause with more donors,鈥 shared Al-Ansari.
